For Juniors ONLY: JUNIOR FIELD DAY will be taking place TODAY from periods 5-7. In homeroom, you will be receiving an ORANGE wrist band which is your ticket into field day. You may NOT bring any bags or bottles outside with you - whatever is brought out with be confiscated. We’re looking forward to a great time!
AP Biology 2010-2011: If your name is on the AP Bio list in Rm 335, and you still haven’t returned the AP Bio Bridge registration forms to Ms. Santos, you MUST do so by Wednesday, June 16th or your spot WILL be given to another student.

· School Year Job for rising sophomores, juniors and seniors: Are you interested in becoming a mentor and tutor for younger children at your local Boston Library Branch? On Friday, June 18th the HAP Program is coming to BLA to interview potential candidates. The interview session will be afterschool in the Library. · On Wednesday June 16th all Cluster A and B 7th graders along with their families are invited to attend Fairy Tales in Style presented by the Cluster A Theater Arts students. Performances will be held periods 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 in Carroll Hall. Please see Mrs. Berinato if you have any questions.
· Anyone interested in going to Six Flags on Thursday, June 17th with the non-official school trip must see Mr. Eaton in Room 331 ASAP.

Boston Latin Academy Barnes and Nobles Bookfair Get Ready for Summer Reading: Barnes and Nobles will come to the Upper Library on Wednesday, June 16th from 10am to 4pm with the required reading books for each grade level. They are selling the books with a 20% discount. Checks, cash and credit cards accepted. Please invite your parents to come.
NHS Induction Ceremony: Students with passes in grades 9 and 10, along with Juniors who are being inducted, are invited to the National Honor Society induction ceremony on Friday, June 11th during periods 3 and 4. Contact Person: Ms. Moniz
AP US History: All students enrolled in AP US History next year should report to Room 317 to pick up their summer reading assignments and materials.
AP Biology 2010-2011: A list of the students who were admitted into AP Biology for the next school year has been posted outside Ms. Santos’ door (Room 335). If your name is on that list, you MUST attend the Bridge program at UMass Boston from 6/22 to 6/25, and from 8/30 to 8/31. Pick up a copy of the student letter, parent letter, and parent/student contract. Read and sign all forms and return to Ms. Santos NO LATER than THIS Monday, June 14th.
All Juniors who registered for AP Government: There will be a mandatory meeting for all students who registered for AP Government and Politics after school on Tuesday, June 15th in room 206 at 1:50pm. The summer assignment will be distributed. This meeting is MANDATORY!
AP Statistics: Anyone taking AP Statistics next year should stop by Room 105 to pick-up your summer assignment.
AP Physics: Anyone taking AP Physics next year should come to Room 331 to pick up the mandatory summer packet. Problems assigned represent a typical week’s workload during the regular year. This work is a diagnostic for both student and teacher. It is due on the first day of school. If the student cannot complete the assignment, they are not ready to take the class.

· Beginning on Monday, March 8th, the Student Forum will be sponsoring a fundraiser for Chile that runs through, Friday, March 12th. · Student Visitors from Kyoto, Japan! As some of you may know, students and teachers from Horikawa High School in Kyoto, Japan, the BLA’s partner school, will be visiting BLA on Wednesday March 10th and Thursday March 11th. Over the course of the two days, the BLA students studying Japanese will be hosting 36 students from Kyoto while Horikawa students will be “shadowing” their BLA partner students visiting their classes. Teachers whose classes will be visited have already given their permission. I would appreciate your warm welcome to these students from our partner school in Japan and thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter. · Seniors: Come pick up a recognition ad form for your parents and a friendship ad form for yourselves for personalized pages in the yearbook. Forms are located on the bulletin board outside of room 310. Contact Person: Mrs. MacIsaac
· The junior and senior classes are hosting a student vs. Faculty dodge ball game on Thursday, March 18th. 15+ teachers have already signed up and there will be 15-20 students chosen to play against them. Students who buy tickets will be entered into a raffle. The first 15-20 winners picked will get to play in the game against the teachers. Tickets will be sold at all three lunches as of this Friday up until the Monday prior to the game. Tickets are $3. Please help us make this be a successful fundraiser. Thank you!
