School Site Council Meetings:

About the Parent and School Site Councils

The School Parent Council

All parents and guardians are automatically members of the School Parent Council (SPC). The monthly meeting is an opportunity for parents to discuss concerns about the school with each other and the Headmaster, build the school community, and improve the quality of education. Come just to listen or to voice your concerns, questions, and ideas. By attending SPC meetings, you can make a major impact on life at BLA and the success of our children.

The School Site Council

School-based decision-making is the responsibility of the School Site Council (SSC). The SSC is comprised of parents, teachers and the Headmaster. It approves school rules, the Whole School Improvement Plan, the budget for discretionary school materials, and it  may request waivers from some Boston Public School (BPS) policies. The Personnel subcommittee of the SSC approves the hiring and in-transfers of teachers and must have at least one parent member.
