To register or for registration information, please email webmaster@blaparents.org. If you are registering, please include your name, address, phone number and your affiliation with BLA. Once your registration is complete, you will begin receiving the Daily Bulletin and will be able to participate in the Discussion Forums.

Parents


  • Know the mission of Boston Latin Academy.

  • Be informed about the college path process.

  • Hold my child accountable to achieve his/her best in all subjects.

  • Make sure my child is ready to learn: well rested and well nourished.

  • Assure child is in school everyday and on time.

  • Monitor my child’s progress (midterm warning/report card/attendance record/tardy record).

  • Monitor my child’s homework assignment.

  • Attend Back-to-School Night and Evening Parent Conferences.

  • Provide a quiet place to study.

  • Be involved in the School Parent Council.

  • Attend my child’s school sponsored activities (sports events, plays, musical events, cultural events etc).


Administration

  • Be accessible to students, parents, and faculty members.

  • Maintain a safe and orderly school environment.

  • Implement the BPS Code of Discipline and assure due process for students and staff.

  • Model respect, understanding and appreciation for all members of the school community.

  • Promote sound organizational and management procedures.

  • Foster effective leadership in promoting improvements of schools and educational programs.


Teachers

  • Maintain a safe orderly learning environment with clear and consistent expectations.

  • Communicate learning goals and high expectations to students and parents.

  • Provide enough time and help for students to learn the subject matter.

  • Use fair and effective assessments of student learning.

  • Keep parents informed of what is expected and how students are doing.

  • Reach out to parents and make them part of their child’s education.
