My son just received his invitation to BLA for September 2007.  His missed BLS by five seats.  We are very excited for him to attend BLA, however his friends were all accepted to BLS.  What can you tell me about BLA?  I’m a little nervous about the area.  Has there been any incidents at the school?  Just looking for some reassurance. I did not grow up in Boston, but we live here now. So, its taken me a while to learn about the exam schools.  It just seems like everyone wants there child to get into BLS.  Isn’t the curriculum the same?  Can someone tell me what the difference is?  Any information is greatly appreciated.

My daughter is very happy at BLA and so am I.  The curriculum is the same...but for some strange reason BLS gets toomuch homework.  Her friends that go to bls are up until all hours doing homework...Sarah gets her homework done and is not up late doing it. As for the neighborhood...a bus picks her up at a stop close by our house and drops her off right in front of the school.  The neighborhood really is not that bad.
