Dear Parents,

The School Parents Council is planning a Teacher Appreciation lunch for Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 11:30 in BLA’s upper cafeteria. We expect about 110 guests, including teachers, administrators and support staff. We need volunteers to plan for or help with the following:

Decorations - 12-15 round table cloths and 12-15 center pieces.

Sandwiches - Finger sandwiches, wrap sandwiches, small sandwiches (any kind). We need 3-4 sandwiches per person; that’s about 330-440 small sandwiches. (Of course, we expect several people to volunteer for this one. If you can get a donation from your local supermarket, that would be great. If you need a letter form the SPC, let me know.)

Salads - macaroni salad, green salad, potato salad, fruit salad, tabouli, etc.

Snacks - Individual bags of chips, pretzels, etc. - 125 or so

Water - 120 bottles of water

Beverages - 120 juice drinks or soda; If you decide to donate these, please bring them to the school a day or two in advance so we can get them cooled in the refrigerator. Liters/gallons of soda or juice are fine too.

Desserts - cookies, brownies, bars - a cake for retiring teachers

Hot coffee and milk/cream - for about 25 people

Paper plates - 220 lunch size paper plates and 220 dessert size

Napkins - 250 napkins

Plastic utensils - 2 forks/person, 1 spoon and 1 knife/person

Paper cups - 25-30 hot cups for coffee - if you are donating soda, please bring cold cups too.

Setup and serving - Let me know if you can commit to come on the 21st.

Goody bags for 100 - We need someone to take care of buying small gift certificates and lottery tickets for each teacher. The SPC will provide $5/teacher but if you can get donations, all the better.

Items for a Free Raffle - Last year people donated gift certificates which we raffled off. I have 3 donations so far and would like to have more.

Other - Did I forget anything? Is there something you would like to make/do that isn’t on the list? Let me know.

Please help in any way that you can. If you can donate part of an item, we’re happy to accept. Anything you can do is valuable. Please call or e-mail me as soon as possible to let me know how you can help. Thank you so much.

Connie:
Please let me know what is missing from your list and I will get in and bring it to school before work that day.  I am ever so grateful for all that BLA did for Kerry I want to continue to help where I can.
Thanks
