Charles Lucas, School Parent Council co-chair, wrote the letter below which was mailed to all BLA parents/guardians this winter. If you have already paid your dues, thank you! If you didn’t have the chance, it is never too late. Simply copy the form at the bottom of the letter and mail you dues to our co-treasurer, Mary Costello, c/o Boston Latin Academy. Boston Latin Academy School Parent Council
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Every year the School Parent Council/Booster Club asks the families of students to contribute annual dues of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) to support our efforts in making Boston Latin Academy an excellent experience for our children.
The School Parent Council/Booster Club represents the families’ interests at Boston Latin Academy by supporting student activities, contributing to school improvements and providing funds for senior scholarships.
It is that time again to ask you directly for financial assistance. If you are unable to attend meetings or volunteer your time, this is yet another way to show your support of the School Parent Council and your children.
Last year we raised more funds than we have in recent years thanks to your generosity and participation at our events. We need to progress along this path in order to maintain and build a strong tradition that will continue to benefit our children.
We have better communication than we did in the past, higher attendance at Council meetings and a healthy enthusiasm for direct and immediate assistance to Boston Latin Academy students and administration. To continue this we need your help.
