When does bus information come out?  I’m trying to help my daughter (who is fairly clueless about public transportation) sort out getting to school/getting home and so far I don’t know how she’s getting there (short of my driving her).  I was hoping to take her on a practice trip.

When does this info come out?

Also, one day a week she stays with my parents who take her to an extracurricular activity—so she’ll need that bus info too—where can I find some answers?

Most days she’ll be coming from/returning to our house in Roxbury (Shirley Street, between Mass Ave and Norfolk Ave), Wednesday afternoon/Thursday morning she’ll need to catch a bus in Dorchester (near Adams Corner).

Thanks for any tips you can give a Sixie Parent!

You should have received a transportation notification from the school department. If you didn’t, contact the transportation department at 617-635-9520 or the BPS hotline at 617-635-9046.

Sixies and 8th graders get to school on yellow school buses in their neighborhoods. If you know anyone in your neighborhood who goes to BLA, ask them for the details on the bus stop and times. This won’t be necessary of course if you got your transportation notice.

I got a notice that says we don’t qualify for bus service—and I’ve already disputed the distance and will be speaking to someone about Alternative Transportation early next week.  I’m now looking for a direct bus route on the T so that I have a backup plan.  It appears that the #10 bus comes once a day to Warren/Townsend Street so that’s something.  Thanks for your reply.
