Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Friends of Boston Latin Academy are hosting our annual Welcome Breakfast for teachers, administrators, and staff on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 7:00 AM in BLA’s Carroll Hall. We expect about 120 guests and we need volunteers to help with the following:

Food - We need breakfast foods such as fruit, fruit salad, bagels, croissants, muffins, Danish, donuts, coffee cake (sliced), etc. We could also use cream cheese, butter and jam. You can donate food you make yourself, buy food, or get a food donation from a local business. B. Feeney - 2 doz. croissants; S. Dartley - 1 doz. croissants & 1 doz. muffins; S. Low - 3 doz. muffins; C. Manzi - Fruit salad; D. Keller - 2 coffee cakes; M. O’Brien - pastries; S. Mastrogiacomo & R. McGrath - 4 doz. bagels; L. Hohenberger - pastries; K. Lally - cream cheese, jam, butter

Beverages - We need water and juice; they can be single serving/half gallons/gallons. We could also use coolers and ice to keep the drinks cold. Y. Brady Y. Malcolm - Beverages, ice & cooler; B. Feeney - ice and cooler; K. Costello - bottled water

Paper Products - We need small plates, clear plastic tumblers for fruit and juice, napkins, and plastic flatware. (We may already have some of these in storage at the school. I’ll have to check.) We are all set with those. We have enough of everything.

Setup and serving - We need 10-12 volunteers to come to Latin Academy at 6:45 AM on 9/9 to set up and/or clean up. S. Dartley & daughters, B. Feeney, S. Low, D. Keller, C. Manzi, K. Costello, D. Gaetan & daughter, A. Savereid, L. Hohenberger

Please help in any way that you can. I understand that not everyone can help on September 9th but I would really appreciate anything you can do. It is so important that our teachers know how much we value them and their dedication to our children and their education. L. Hann - cash donation

A footnote to let you all know that the breakfast will be in Carroll Hall this year on 9/9/09 from 7 AM to 8 AM. Teachers will arrive between 7 and 7:30 and volunteers will meet to set up at 6:45. If we are setting up when some teachers arrive at 7, it won’t be a problem because they don’t actually have to be there until 7:30.
