Hi I still did not get any information on the bus. All I was told was that my child will get a bus pass, that was not my question. I left messages for the assistant headmaster and I havent heard from him. Again my question was Is there a special bus for the children that live in the Brighton/Allston area? the commute will be too long and too far for my 14 year old to take so early in the morning so he can be at school by 7:20.
Please can someone give me an answer???
thank you

The 7th and 8th graders take a yellow bus.
For the 9th and up, there are also a couple MBTA buses that specifically come to Allston/Brighton from the school, but I don’t know the schedules, my kid is in 8th. Last year the schedules were posted in the home rooms, also the location around the school where the kids were supposed to get on the bus. I’m surprised they didn’t mail you something… next year is going to be fun.
It’s too bad the administrators didn’t get back to you, unfortunately they are not competent to do things like call you back.

Thank you, thank you ,thank you
I appreciate it. I noticed that no one had an answer til I went to the school this morning and spoke to someone who wasnt too sure if there would any bus services today. Its quite scarry dropping your child off and not knowing how he/she would get home after school.
good luck with your child going to the 9th grade, I did not received any information at all. I had to call for the time and date for the orientation after I heard it from another child going to BLA.
I hope they can get on the ball about passing on information, especially to new parents.

In hopes of finding an alternative to driving my child (a new 9th grader as well) to school everyday, I picked up flyer from the office about the supplemental MBTA service for BLA students. According to the flyer there is a 6:15 AM bus from Oak Square, Brighton via Union Square, and Allston for BLA students. There is a PM bus as well. Try calling the office for faxed or e-mailed copy.
Does anyone know if there is a car pool from Dorchester?

Esoto, I hope your son got home… the kids help each other get around a clumsy system.
As for the Dorchester car pool, you should post a forum item under a new title. But hopefully your kid will find other kids to help.

thank you for the information. I went to the school but spoke to a teacher outside the school who gave some information on the bus, but again I still had questions like where in oak square and again no straight answer. So my son will go stand in oak square and wait to see a bus going toBLA.
thank you again I appreciate it.

I got this email from Mr. Sullivan. Here is the email of the lady who deals with problems in the transportation dept.
Good luck!
Mary (mother of an 8th grader)
