Dear Parents,
The School Parents Council is planning a Teacher Appreciation lunch for Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 11:45 in BLA’s upper cafeteria. We expect about 100 guests, including 79 teachers, administrators and support staff. We need volunteers to plan for or help with the following:
Decorations - We need someone who can make sure the tables look inviting. We’ll need tablecloths, center pieces, etc.
Food, beverages, and dessert - Cold food, like sandwiches, salads, crudites, munchies, etc. would be best since we probably won’t have full use of the cafeteria. Single serving bottled beverages such as water, juice, and sports drinks work well. You can donate food you make yourself, buy food, or get a food donation from a local business.
Paper Products - We need someone to make sure we have plates, cups, utensils, etc.
Setup and serving - We need parents to commit to come to BLA on the 22nd to set up and clean up.
Goodies bags for 100 - We need someone to design the bags and organize putting them together. We can spend up to $10/person.
Recognition of Retirees - We need ideas on this. 14 teachers are retiring. I don’t have their names but I know the departments they are from and whether they are male or female.
Free Raffle - We need someone to collect items to raffle and set up a box from which we could draw names. If anyone would like to donate a raffle item, let us know. Think about donating something that you yourself might like to receive. You could donate gift certificates or tickets, like movie gift certificates, a gift certificate to your favorite restaurant or coffee shop, a bookstore gift certificate, spa certificate, auto detailing gift certificate, car wash tickets, movie tickets, sports tickets, etc.
Other - Did I forget anything? Let me know.
Please help in any way that you can. Not everyone’s schedule will allow them to help on the day of the luncheon, but anything you can do to help honor the teachers is valuable. Click to e-mail me and let me know what you can do. Thank you.
